YouTube - Nicholas Christakis: The hidden influence of social networks

Nicholas Christakis: The hidden influence of social networks

Social networks shape our thinking, our lives and our actions.
They are arenas of influence. Nicholas Christakis in this video
presentation shows how social networks can explain the growth
of philanthropy, obesity and drug use.

His visual presentation of the forming and re-forming of a
social network over 15 years is stimulating and enlightening
It will change your perspective of social networks and
their power for creating good in the world.

Nicholas maintains that social networking is embedded
in our genes and that one only has to look at our offline
social networks to confirm this.

The question for us as business owners and online
marketers is. "How are we going to use these arenas
of influence?" Will the world be a better place as a result
of our actions on Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo, RedGage
and other social networking sites?

How to Create a Facebook iFrame Page

As you would be aware, Facebook has changed its
requirements re the creation of Facebook Pages.

You now have to create Facebook Pages using iFrames
instead of Facebook's FBML (Facebook MarkUp Language).

This Facebook change in March 20011 means that you
now have to develop Facebook iFrame Pages and host
the design offsite.

The four basic steps now are:
1. Create the framework for a Facebook Page
(register a Page)
2. Develop a page design using iFrame coding (develop
and host offline)
3. Create a Facebook App to enable integration of your
page design into your Facebook Page.
4. Integrate your Page design into your Facebook Page
using the App you created.

All good fun! ... and requiring multiple small steps.

The best resource for value that I have found so far is
Facebook iFrame Training which provides video training
and a basic WordPress Theme for your iFrame
design. You have to have (or create) a Wordpress blog
to use this package.

The package comes with PLR rights. I am offering the
PLR package to my subscribers at a discount of 30%
on what I paid for it.

Check out this great package here:

I hope this helps you through the maze of recent
Facebook changes.

I would like to thank all those who contributed
category suggestions in my recent survey. We have
been able to incorporate your suggestions.

Our new social media site is undergoing testing
at the moment and we are looking forward to its
